The Administrator brings technical, organisational and people skills to support the many systems that keep a healthy retreat centre running smoothly for the benefit of guests. You are resourceful and practical with a solid foundation of IT skills, a track record of relevant responsibility and an interest in testing your vocation to community life. Sheldon is a beautiful retreat centre in rural Devon welcoming people from all walks of life and offering specialist support to people in Christian ministry.
Due to a combination of growth, restructuring and succession planning Sheldon currently has four Community vacancies. Joining the Community involves making Sheldon your home as well as your workplace and taking an active part in our shared life. We are a small team working closely together. The Administrator looks after IT, communications and organisational compliance as well as having a front line role taking bookings and helping to cover reception. The Estate Manager leads the team looking after the 45 acres of grounds and gardens, booking suppliers and trades, etc. We are also recruiting for deputies for the Housekeeper (preparation and serving of rooms) and Cellarer / Capable Cook (preparation and serving of meals. New members join a well run organisation with a strong reputation that takes a pride in high standards and attention to detail. The core of your role is one of the four listed, but life is always varied and there is lots of opportunity for development.
