We will find you a new house as a suitable base for your ministry

Your main base for ministry will be within Farnworth and Cronton - two villages to the East of Widnes. Farnworth has a population of ten thousand with several new housing estates. St Luke’s is seen as central to the village and has a strong number of weddings, funerals and baptisms. They see themselves as an active church with a focus on welcome and a good programme of events. Whilst seeking to preserve their ancient church for future generations they are looking to reach out – particularly to families and young adults.
Cronton is a smaller village within the parish and the mission meets in the school hall. Led by an effective Local Missional Leader, the mission works to establish a joint community in the village with plenty of ecumenical services. They also reach out to others by the way of a drop in centre at the local post office. They are looking support and develop their outreach and raise their profile in the village and the team.
Both churches have strong connections with their local schools, seeing these as potential opportunities for growth
Widnes is well located close to both Liverpool and Manchester and provides an excellent base for visiting the many and varied delights of the North West. The former industrial town is seeing a great deal of regeneration with new housing developments, new medium and small enterprises and greater leisure facilities. Widnes residents benefit from toll free access to the new Mersey Gateway bridge.

We think we will achieve this mission if we have
100 new congregations
1,000 new leaders
to help us do this we are calling every worshipping Christian in our diocese to
