This is an interim post initially for three years renewable for a further three years. There is a desire amongst the parishes to come together as a united benefice as they have enjoyed the benefits of working more closely together over the last few years.

We are four semi-rural parishes in the beautiful Pennines of West Yorkshire, looking for an enthusiastic, committed and experienced priest-in-charge who will:

  • Be a visible presence in the community and our schools and who will have a heart for mission and outreach, as well as a real understanding of the place of the church in the community
  • Identify, encourage and grow gifts for ministry from within our congregations
  • Have a flexible approach to Sunday Worship also valuing the occasional offices as a means of mission as well as pastoral care
  • Have a passion for bringing people into faith, especially bringing in a new generation of younger people and for helping all with their own personal faith journey
  • Bring experience to help develop and encourage a vision for the four churches to become a united benefice and to work together in mission, ministry and service.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • A person of prayer, who is aware of their own spirituality and has their own prayer life
  • A good communicator with all ages with excellent people skills, a sense of humour and an ability to combine informality and spiritual depth
  • A person with a passion for bringing others to faith
