We seek a committed and enthusiastic priest to join our team which ministers across the four churches that make up the newly expanded Bexley Team Ministry
This is an exciting time of change and development for the Team, with the recent appointment of a Team Rector, a half-time Team Vicar and a half-time Associate Priest. Although the new priest will have particular responsibility for St John’s Church, Bexley, they will be expected to work collaboratively across all four churches that make up the Bexley Team (namely St John's Bexley; St Mary's Bexley; St Barnabas Joydens Wood; and St James North Cray)
Our new Team Vicar should:
* be spirituality-inspiring, able to challenge and encourage us in our faith;
* develop the gifts and ministries of lay people;
* be a sensitive but decisive leader to guide the church towards change;
* help develop and strengthen work with families and children’;
* value the strong musical tradition of St John’s.

We are a medium sized suburban parish in the south of the London Borough of Bexley (pop.7,500). It is largely residential, but there are plenty of open green spaces. There are no high-rise buildings and very little social housing.
St John’s is a Grade II listed, Victorian Gothic Revival in style, built in 1882.
Our main Sunday service is a Sung Eucharist, at 10am, with music led by our choir and organist. On the first Sunday of each month we have Family Worship, with music led by our music group, followed by Matins at 11.30am.
